Keith David New Warriors

Showrunner Kevin Biegel Reunites With Keith David, The Two Worked Together On Enlisted

In a recent rewatching of There’s Something About Mary, I totally forgot Keith David was the man behind the infamous, “Beans above the Frank” line. Now, the Frank & Beans actor is joining the cast of Marvel’s new comedy show New Warriors on Freeform. David is set to play a recurring villain for the heroes, including Squirrel Girl.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David plays an original character for the show and not a long standing comic book villain. David will portray Ernest Vigman, a “caustic municipal employee who butts up against the hopeful energy of the New Warriors“. Sounds like he might be the guy that has to clean up after these inexperienced heroes and they get under his skin.

David isn’t a stranger to super hero characters. He’s provided the voice for many of the comic book characters in countless animated series. From Black Panther to Spawn, and many other minor characters in between. David is definitely part of the nerd culture lexicon. I enjoyed his stint on the final season of Community as well.

Marvel’s New Warriors hits Freeform in 2018. David joins the recently announced cast of Milana Vayntrub, Derek Theler, Jeremy Tardy, Calum Worthy, Matthew Moy, and Kate Comer.

Do you think the New Warriors cast is shaping up nicely? Thoughts on Keith David as a villain? Let us know in the comments below.
