It’s the ‘Hunger Games’ Meets ‘Jurassic Park’! Sounds Amazing Right?
The Jurassic Games is the latest movie from acclaimed director Ryan Bellgardt. You might know him from the hits Army of Frankensteins and Gremlin. That’s Gremlin, not to be confused with Joe Dante’s Gremlins. What? You’ve never heard of those movies? Yeah, me neither.
However, as a big fan of Jurassic Park and dinosaurs in general, while also enjoying a little The Hunger Games (The Running Man was better), I can get behind the concept.
Here’s how The Hollywood Reporter describes the film:
“It takes place in the near future, where ten death row convicts must compete in a virtual reality game show called The Jurassic Games. They will battle dinosaurs as well as each other — and if hey die in the game, they also die in real life. It follows Anthony Tucker (Adam Hampton), a man wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife, who will be reunited with his children if he wins. Unfortunately for him, the game’s host adds harder and harder challenges for the contestants — and there can be only one winner.”
If that interests you check out more exclusive photos in the THR article. Spoiler Warning: not a single one of them feature even a glimpse of a dinosaur. Sorry for the spoilers. However, there is a nice picture of a key in the desert.
This is one movie you’ll want to get all the latest news about, so check back for more. Especially if you’re a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan. This is right up your alley!
From director Ryan Bellgardt, The Jurassic Games stars Adam Hampton, Ryan Merriman, and Perrey Reeves. The High Octane Pictures production hits theaters sometime in 2018.
