Holland’s Peter Parker Will Appear in Four Movies Over the Next Three Years…
Monday was a big day in the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While screening Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, many of the press also took a tour of Marvel Studios. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed that Spider-Man would make an appearance in Avengers 4. The untitled film is scheduled for release in 2019.
This means that for the next three years Tom Holland will appear as Spider-Man in at least four films. Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters this July and features the young Peter Parker’s experiences in high school. Additionally, the web-slinger will appear in Avengers: Infinity War which hits theaters in 2018. There is no word yet on what Avengers 4 will be about. Originally, it was thought to be the second part of Infinity War, but that has since changed. After Avengers 4, Holland will go back to working solo in his second stand-alone Spider-Man film.
Furthermore, Feige confirms that Marvel has nothing to do with Sony’s plans to spin-off Venom and the Black Cat/Silver Sable movies. When asked about Marvel’s lack of involvment in those projects, Feige simply answered, “We had a very particular plan about Spidey himself.”
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., and Marisa Tomei. The film swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
