Fox Orders Agent Mulder and Agent Scully To Investigate Ten More Spooky Mysteries…
The X-Files last graced the TV screen with a small six-episode event series in 2016. Now, Fox has ordered another 10 episodes of the classic science fiction series. For fans, this means we finally get to know what happens next since Season 10 ended with a cliffhanger. The new 11th season will hit Fox during the 2017-2018 TV season. My guess is the start of 2018, similar to how Season 10 started.
Fox Network President David Madden had this to say about the series:
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
As a life-long X-Files fan, I am completely stoked at this news. A few weeks ago we reported that Audible was producing a radio drama featuring Agents Mulder and Scully. To now know we are not only getting that, but also a whole new 10 episode season, I’m on cloud nine. I think I just saw a UFO!
The X-Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson and comes from the creative mind of Chris Carter. Other series mainstays that are likely to return are Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man.
Prepare your whistling lips, the theme will return to TV screens sometime in the next year.
