Unfortunately, Dutch Won’t Make an Appearance in the New Sequel to ‘Predator’
In June, the film Predator turns 30 years old. The classic horror/action film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as he leads an elite military unit into a jungle mission only to come face to face with an alien hunting humans for sport. There is currently a sequel to the 1987 film in pre-production. Shane Black who plays Hawkins, the nerdy technical guy of the team, in the original Predator is writing and directing the film.
Black was hoping that the original film’s star, Schwarzenegger, would return to the sequel for a small cameo. However, the elderly action hero has reportedly turned down the role. Not because he didn’t like the script and story for the film, but rather that his role in the film was too small to be worth his time.
Speaking with Yahoo! Movies yesterday in promoting his latest movie release Aftermath, Arnold spoke about his reasons for turning down the role.
They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it — whatever they offered. So I’m not going to do that, no. Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that.
Shane Black confirms that Arnold wasn’t happy with the size of the part in a recent Twitter comment.

AvPGalaxy reports that the scene featuring Dutch was near the end of the film and was a small cameo to set up as a sequel to the film. That make it sound like the sequel would feature more Arnold if he were to take this small part. It’s too bad he’s turned it down.
What do you think of another Predator film? Would you see it with or without Arnold making an appearance? Let us know in the comments below.
